Taylor Rae's Adventure
While traveling and staying in Southern California, school has been a lot of fun. My
mom and dad are home schooling us. Some of the classes take place in Disneyland
learning about the local agriculture. We also have been learning how to draw
Disney characters from the Disney animation artists.
Some cool things I learned.

-The Honey Bee is the only insect that produces food eaten by humans

-While orange is the most popular color, carrots also com in yellow, white, red, and purple.

-A Californian cow produces 6-7 gallons of milk each day. It takes about 10 pounds of milk to
produce one pound of cheese.

-More than half the world supply of raisins come from California most within 50 miles of FRESNO

-In 1923 Anaheim horculrurist Rudolph Boysen crossbred a raspberry, blackberry and a loganberry
plant thus creating the Boysenberry.
Science

For Science we met with the Orange County Astronomers Club and did some Star Gazing. We got
to see the planet Jupiter and 4 of its 63 moons, a nebula which is a cloud of gas that looks like a
cheerio. We also got to see our sister galaxy Andromeda through their high powered telescopes. Just
looking in the sky we could see Jupiter shinning, the Big Dipper, Orion and Cassiopeia. We could
also see the Milky Way Galaxy, some shooting stars and a satellite traveling across the sky.
