School is just going great! There are at least 500 people in my class. Why? Because I am home schooled I get to go to Disneyland like 2 or 3 times a week. We learn about the prices at Disneyland and compare them to the prices that we find at Wal-Mart. We learn cause and effect by seeing how long it takes to dry off after we go on the Grizzly Bear Run. We also do math by seeing how many people there is in front of us and how many seats there is in a car and we try to figure out how many more cars until it will be our turn. Well it helps because we get to go through the fast pass line. It is another line but takes a shorter time to go through. For art we go to California Adventure and we go to Animation Academy and learn how to draw a character. So far we drew Goofy, Minnie, and Daisy. When we get home we draw frames for our newly created masterpieces and then we hang them on the curtain in our house. Also in Disney Land we did science by going to Inoventions. It is one of the attractions, it was created by Tom Orrow. It stands for inventions and inovation. They just put it together as one word. There is lots of science stuff like see how much BMI you have by just answering like 15 questions. There is also a mat that you can play hockey on and to stop the puck from where it is heading you just put your foot in front of it. It is so cool! If you are more curious about my home schooling you can e-mail me at rydelspy@hotmail.com and I will e-mail you back a.s.a.p. We have also gone stargazing at San Manteo and to a presentation about our galaxy and other galaxies that scientists have found. Did you know that Pluto is no longer considered a planet? The reason being, scientists…. (Click here to read more!). We have also been to a kite fair at Dayna Point beach. It was a French meet-up group but we mostly spoke in English. Since we didn't bring a kite we got to fly other people's kites and there was this one guy who had a little toy that caught the wind up the kite string then used its weight to bring it down once it reached the top. For school we do a total of 565 minutes (9 hours and 42 minutes) of school work in a week. That means 1 hour and 35 minutes of school work a day! Except when we go to Disney Land we spend more than an hour and a half, more like 3- 10 hours. I also taught myself a little bit of Greek Mythology and things about the Constellations. |
