Fun in Las vegas |
We got one full day in Las Veags. Mom and dad took us to the Las Vegas strip. We visited the M&M store and the Coca-Cola store. At the M&M store there were four levels! You could get almost anything you wanted with M&Ms on it, cups, watches, plates, M&M dispensers… We also were there just in time to take pictures with the red, green and yellow M&M dudes. Going up the escalator they had pictures of what the early characters looked like on the wall. On the 2nd floor, they had a wall of dispensers...full of M&Ms that you could choose from....26 differernt colors! Now they even have raspberry M&Ms. The next store that we went to was the Coca-Cola store and they had different Coca-Cola merchandise. We took a picture with the Coca-Cola bear and looked around a bit. In Las Vegas we also went to the Stratosphere Hotel to go on the rides on the top of the tower, 921 feet high! The elevator ride up was fast. We went floors in seconds. On the top of the tower there are three rides. The first ride I went on was the Big Shot, it is like the Space Shot at West Edmonton Mall but on top of the tower. Here is what the Stratosphere website says about the Big Shot: The Big Shot thrill ride catapults 16 riders from the 921-foot high platform up the Tower's mast to a height of 1,081 feet. Traveling at 45 miles per hour, riders experience 4G's as they reach the very top, and feel negative G's on the way down. (http://www.stratospherehotel.com/big_shot.html) When you are at the top of that ride and you look down you can't see the Stratosphere, just the ground ever so far below it. The second ride I went on was the X-Scream, Ever played on a teeter-totter 866 feet high? With the X-Scream, you can! With a space age, yet simplistic design resembling a massive teeter-totter unlike anything you’ve ever seen, the X-Scream will propel you and several other riders head-first, 27 feet over the edge of the Stratosphere Tower. (http://www.stratospherehotel.com/xstream.html) It makes you feel like you are going to fly off the tower and drop to the ground, then it does it again! The third ride I went on was called Insanity. It is like the Swing of the Century except you hang off the side of the tower. On that ride it is really cool when you look down spinning feet off the ground. Insanity the Ride is a truly mindbending experience! A massive mechanical arm extending out 64 feet over the edge of the Stratosphere Tower at a height of over 900 feet, Insanity will spin you and several other passengers in the open air at speeds of up to three ‘G’s. You’ll be propelled up to an angle of 70 degrees, which will tilt your body into one position – facing straight down! (http://www.stratospherehotel.com/insanity.html) If you die before you get to go on these rides...you will regret it! Just in case you wnat to go now...For Stratosphere ticket sales & information please call the Ticketing Box Office at (702) 380-7711. |
