The Hemmings’ Family Adventure

December 2007

December in the South West USA

Sunny Southern California? Not so much this last month or so. It has been rainy and cold, yes cold! I had to buy a bomber jacket so we could be out at night! Yes, that is right, a down filled bomber jacket, one of those “poofy” ones! So we changed our plans and we are headed East. Florida is warm and our common sense says, “go to Florida!”

We left our apartment in Irvine on November 30 and went to San Diego for a few days. We had intended to stay 2 weeks, but we were camping and well, at night it dropped to about 5ºC. That may not seem cold to any of you who are under 2 feet of snow and –25ºC right now, but trust me, it’s cold.

In San Diego we went to SeaWorld (Shamu is as talented as ever!), the San Diego Zoo (the pandas were awake and active) and took a ride on the Amtrak. The girls wanted to take a train ride so we went for a 3 hour round trip ride from San Diego to San Juan Capistrano (SJC). It was quite an interesting ride. A lot of people commute using the Amtrak...even students! There is a private school in SJC and kids “commute” from nearby towns via the train. Kind of neat we thought.

We arrived in Phoenix just in time to have a tour of the Isagenix Corporate offices. One word? WOW! Rick Despains (yes the Director of Marketing) gave us our tour. We heard about the expansion...we are growing so fast that Isagenix had to get a much bigger production warehouse. They are turning the current warehouse into more office space. What an amazing time to be  a part of this outstanding company. Take a bow all of you who are helping the growth of this company with your product sales and your business building.

**Just an FYI—if you are ever stuck to explain what Isagenix does, use this comparison. “Remember how Subway spent millions of dollars to “advertise” on TV, radio and print ads that JUST ONE person, that Jared guy, lost 100 pounds on the Subway Diet? Well Isagenix is kind of like that, just a lot smarter. Isagenix is paying it associates millions of dollars for them to tell people (advertise) that we have over 70 people who have lost 100 pounds or more and 3 who have lost over 200 pounds!” Good or good?

In San Antonio, we spent the day at the Whitte Museum (4 Stars). AND I finally found  Vietnamese spring rolls! I haven’t had any since dinner with Shila in LA!

1 day at the Houston Health Museum was great! So much info, so many wonderful things to learn about the body. Who needs high school biology when it’s all here in techno colour! LOL!

Then 2 nights in New Orleans, The French Quarter, the trolley, the food (yes we ate crawfish...all of us!) and of course Bourbon street...two different experiences, one during the day and the one at night (yes the girls were with us...had to “distract” them from certain windows, but they thought is was kind of cool.

Today is a travel day. We stopped for lunch in Biloxi, AL, perhaps dinner will be in in Tallahassee, FL,. Then on to Daytona Beach for Christmas. We have just booked 3 weeks on the beach. Life is FABULOUS! (Have I said that lately?)

Plans as of now...Jan & Feb in Florida, March in Puerto Rico, part of April back in Florida then we head North (ew that sounds funny). Up the East coast to the Maritimes, then on to Alberta by  mid-June. Then we will “regroup” before heading out on next year’s adventure! What an amazing life!

Thank you Isagenix for the vehicle to live out our dreams. We are truly blessed!

Did you know…

A therapeutic bath is a great way to unwind.  Pour two cups of Epsom salt into a warm bath and soak for ten to fifteen minutes.  This will create a magnesium soak that will warm you all over and help to draw out toxins through the skin.

Never work FOR somebody who is dumber than you are.

Traveling update

While in Phoenix we were blessed to be able to spend a few days with Paul, MJ and Jasmine Guerra. We had wonderful food, the girls got to help decorate their Christmas tree and Dywayne and I got to reconnect with some very good friends. That is truly what this trip is all about, family and friends and love and blessings.

Taken outside of the Isagenix Corporate office! We might even be in the newsletter!

Text Box: We are so happy and grateful now that we have inspired others to move forward with their dreams. We have been getting numerous emails from friends, new and old, thanking us for helping them step outside of their own boxes and reach for their own stars! It is completely our pleasure to help inspire and guide those who want so much more.

Please forward this newsletter to anyone who you feel might be inspired

~ a billboard ad “Get Collect Calls from Jail to your Cell Phone! Call Now”

~ the strip malls in Scottsdale have covered parking, trellises put up all over the parking lot to protect the cars from the sun. No sun when we were there however, just rain!

~ Don’t drive in downtown Phoenix without a map. The roads north/south are AVENUES on the west side of El Centro and STREETS on the East side. Oy Vay! So there is a 7th ave and a 7th street, going north/south within 1.5 miles of each other! If downtown wasn’t hard enough with the one ways...now we have to look for streets and aves! Yikes!

Things that make us smile while travelling east.

The road to happiness lies in two simple principles: find what it is that interests you and that you can do well, and when you find it, put your whole soul into it - every bit of energy, ambition and natural ability you have. Then you can be happy.

Puerto Rico Update

Thank you to our Puerto Rico friends who have offered to help up find a place to stay for a couple of months. The Isagenix family is truly that our family. Without even personally knowing these people, we sent an email to some Isagenix associates in PR (they are not even part of our physical team) and told them we were coming to visit. Not only did they offer to help up find a location we were invited to attend the meetings as well! We are blessed to be part of such loving company! My heart is so full!

Hi, I’m Adeline, Barbilee’s mom. Yeah, her mom. But don’t you think that sways my opinion of  what she does at all, it doesn’t. If anything, I was more skeptical and, even I dare say, a bit harder on her.

Barbilee promised me that we would work at my pace. You see I was in a serious car accident 5 years ago and I had not been able to work much or do much of anything physical since then. But the program had made such a dramatic change in Barbilee I needed to do it.

Thank you Paul, MJ and Jasmine for the wonderful visit. (And for letting the girls help with the tree!)

Our Isagenix Business Update

This is a special invitation to our current and future team members. Dywayne, the girls and I are truly committed to continuing our family adventure.  With that commitment comes some responsibility...financial responsibility. With our investments (raw land, real estate, businesses and, of course, Isagenix) we are able to live the lifestyle that we want. But not everyone on our team is in that place right now, and MANY of them have expressed to us how they want to have the freedom that we do.

We are committed to making 6 figures in the first half of 2008 using Isagenix as a conduit and we want to take a bunch of you with us. We are looking for 10 VERY serious people who want to join us in earning a 6 figure income. If you want to be a part of our new Million Dollar Team, and you are truly ready, just let us know.

We are going all the way, who is coming with us?

Usually this is the spot where I recommend a book that I have been reading, well lately it has been travel magazines and travel websites. I do HIGHLY recommend that if you are doing any kid of travelling, get a CAA/ AAA membership. OMG! Just the on line Trip Tix alone has made it SOOOO worth it!

I have a very modified program, slow, nothing drastic. When I started my program I was 149 pounds with 36% body fat. My after picture, taken 7 months later, I told you slow and steady, I was 127 pounds and 31% body fat.

Here I am, 65 years old, and I have more energy and more clarity than I HAVE EVER HAD BEFORE!  I am sleeping better, I am walking more, I am playing with my grandchildren AND great grandchildren. My daughter even jokes about the fact that she actually “likes” me now...You know what, I like me too!
